She says from what she can see, it's a female house finch, but she could say more if she knew what general region you're in and what the wings looked like.

Yeah, we have finches up here. The midwest, if that helps. But I don't think I got any pictures of the wings or anything.

Well from the facial markings, it's definitely a female house finch. The only other thing it could be would be a purple finch, and those don't have facial markings like that, so she says.

Yeah, I've seen purple finches too.
